Ingrid Magdalena Atterberg-Göransson (1920–2008) was a Swedish ceramic artist known for her innovative work in stoneware and her own ceramic studio in Uppsala, which she established in 1969. She was a key figure in mid-20th-century Swedish ceramics and made significant contributions to both industrial and studio pottery.

Atterberg introduced manganese clay in the late 1940s and chamotte in the mid-1950s, expanding the textural possibilities of Swedish ceramics. Her experiments with clays and glazes culminated in 1957 with the development of sintered stoneware, a technically stoneware product fired at lower temperatures, making it more affordable to produce without compromising durability or aesthetic quality.

From 1944 to 1963, Atterberg was a leading artist at Uppsala-Ekeby AB, one of Sweden’s most prominent ceramic manufacturers. She also worked for Karlskrona and Gefle Porcelain Factories from 1952 onward, creating influential series such as TricornPylonNegroGrafikaVästkustChamotteMimosaPastell, and Vienna. Her work combined technical innovation with refined form and decoration, earning her recognition both in Sweden and internationally.
