Edward Hald (1883–1980) was a Swedish painter, glass artist, and designer. Trained as a painter in Scandinavia and Paris, he became a leading figure at Orrefors glassworks from 1917, where he helped develop the Graal glass technique alongside Simon Gate. Hald played a key role in the international breakthrough of Swedish glass at the Paris World Exhibition in 1925 and is associated with the “Swedish Grace” style. One of his most celebrated works is the Celestial Globe (1930). He later served as managing director and artistic director at Orrefors.
