Halvar Frisendahl (Sverige, 1889-1953)

Halvar Sven Otto Frisendahl (25 September 1889 – 6 December 1953) was a Swedish sculptor, born in the parish of Ådals-Liden in Västernorrland County and deceased in Trosa, Sweden.
Frisendahl studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm from 1911 to 1914. After completing his studies, he lived and worked in Paris, where he attended the Académie Colarossi. In 1918, he undertook a study trip to Italy before returning to Paris. His artistic work consisted mainly of small-scale sculptures, including animal figures, portrait busts, and funerary monuments.
His work is represented in several prominent Swedish collections. Among others, he is represented at Moderna Museet, at the Nationalmuseum with a bronze sculpture depicting a young girl’s head, and with a plaster sculpture in the collection of the Västerås Art Association’s gallery.
